GC-type horizontal single-suction multistage sectional boiler feedwater centrifugal pump
The GC‑type boiler feedwater pump is a horizontal, single‑suction, multistage, sectional centrifugal pump, primarily used for boiler feedwater supply; hence its alternative name, boiler feedwater pump. This series of pumps is suitable for conveying clean water at temperatures below 110°C, as well as other non‑corrosive liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water, and is widely employed in boiler feedwater systems of industrial, mining, and public institutions, as well as in urban domestic water supply.

Product Overview of GC Boiler Feedwater Centrifugal Pumps
The GC‑type boiler feedwater pump is a horizontal, single‑suction, multistage, sectional centrifugal pump, primarily used for boiler feedwater supply; hence its alternative name, boiler feedwater pump. This series of pumps is suitable for conveying clean water or other non‑corrosive liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water at temperatures below 110°C, and is widely employed in boiler feedwater systems across industrial, mining, and public institutions, as well as in urban domestic water supply.
Product Features of the GC Boiler Feedwater Centrifugal Pump
GC‑type pumps are multistage, sectional centrifugal pumps. The 1‑1/2GC to 4GC models have their suction and discharge ports located on the suction and discharge sections, respectively, both oriented vertically upward. The head can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of pump stages to suit specific application requirements. The quality of pump assembly significantly affects performance, particularly the relative positioning between the outlet of each impeller and the inlet of the guide vanes. The center of each impeller’s discharge port must align precisely with the center of the corresponding guide vane; even a slight misalignment will reduce flow rate, lower head, and decrease efficiency. Therefore, utmost care must be taken during reassembly after maintenance, and any deviations must be corrected.
The main components of a GC-type pump include the shaft, shaft sleeve, suction section, impeller, guide vanes, sealing ring, middle section, discharge section, balance ring, balance disc, and rear cover.
The suction section, impeller section, discharge section, and the end cover are all made of cast iron, together forming the pump’s working chamber.
The impeller is made of cast iron and features blades; the liquid enters axially from one side. Due to the pressure difference between the front and rear of the impeller, an axial force is generated, which is counteracted by the balance disc. The impeller undergoes static balancing tests during manufacturing.
The shaft is made of high-quality carbon steel and is fitted with an impeller at its center, secured to the shaft by a key, a shaft sleeve, and a sleeve nut. One end of the shaft is equipped with a coupling assembly for direct connection to the motor. When viewed in the direction of rotation, the pump shaft rotates clockwise.
The sealing rings are made of cast iron to prevent high-pressure water from the pump from leaking back into the suction section. They are securely mounted in the suction and middle sections, are wear‑prone components, and can be replaced with spare parts when worn.
The balance ring is made of cast iron and is fixed to the discharge section; together with the balance disc, it forms the balancing device.
The balance disc is made of wear-resistant cast iron, mounted on the shaft between the discharge section and the end cover, and serves to balance axial forces.
The sleeve is made of cast iron and is positioned between the two stuffing boxes, serving to secure the impeller and protect the pump shaft. It is a wear‑prone component that can be replaced with a spare part when worn.
The bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing, lubricated with calcium-based grease.
The packing seal consists of a stuffing box on the suction section and the end cover, a gland follower, packing rings, and packing material; a small amount of high-pressure water is introduced into the stuffing box to provide a water seal. The packing must be neither too tight nor too loose—its tightness should allow liquid to leak out drop by drop. If the packing is too tight, the shaft sleeve may overheat and power consumption will increase. If the packing is too loose, fluid leakage will reduce pump efficiency.
Application Scope of GC Boiler Feedwater Centrifugal Pumps
The GC boiler feedwater centrifugal pump is particularly well suited for boiler feedwater applications and can also be widely used in pressure vessel water supply, hot‑water circulation, high‑rise building water supply, agricultural irrigation, fire‑fighting booster systems, hydraulic flushing, as well as in the food, brewing, pharmaceutical, chemical, aquaculture, environmental protection, chemical process‑flow, and machine‑tool‑support industries—as a power‑driven device for water supply and drainage.
