XBD-L Type Single-Stage Multi-Suction Segmented Vertical Fire Pump

The XBD-L type single-suction multistage sectional vertical fire pump unit is designed for conveying clean water free of solid particles, as well as liquids with physicochemical properties similar to water. It is primarily used for boosting water pressure in fire‑fighting systems and can also be applied to industrial and mining water supply and drainage. The flow rate of the conveyed liquid ranges from 5 to 80 L/s, the pressure range is 0.2 to 2.25 MPa, the matched motor power ranges from 3 to 200 kW, and the nominal pipe diameter spans from Φ 50 to Φ 200 mm.

Product Description

Product Introduction:

The XBD-L type single-suction, multistage, sectional vertical fire pump unit is designed for conveying clean water free of solid particles and liquids with physicochemical properties similar to water. It is primarily used for pressurizing and delivering water in fire‑fighting systems and can also be applied to industrial and mining water supply and drainage. The flow rate of the conveyed liquid ranges from 5 to 80 L/s, the pressure range is 0.2 to 2.25 MPa, the matched motor power ranges from 3 to 200 kW, and the nominal pipe diameter ranges from Φ 50 to Φ 200 mm.

The XBD-L series fire pumps manufactured by our company meet the performance and technical requirements stipulated in the newly promulgated national standard GB 6245-1998, “Performance Requirements and Test Methods for Fire Pumps,” and have been certified as compliant following testing by the National Fire Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.

Model Description:

XBD 5.7/25-100L

XBD – Fire Pump Unit Code

5.7-Pressure (1/10 MPa)

25-Flow rate (L/s)

100—Pump suction inlet diameter (mm)

The L-structure is a vertical pump.

Key Features

1. The pump features a compact structure, small footprint, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Its vertical design minimizes the installation space required, while its center of gravity aligns with the pump base, thereby enhancing operational stability and extending service life.

2. Both the pump suction inlet and discharge outlet are oriented horizontally, simplifying pipeline connections.

3. The multistage pump can be configured, as required, with suction and discharge ports mounted in several different orientations—90°, 180°, or 270°—to accommodate various connection requirements.

4. The pump pressure can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of stages and by trimming the impeller’s outer diameter, without altering the installation footprint—something other types of pumps cannot achieve.

5. The pump rotor features low deflection, ensuring smooth operation, minimal vibration, low noise, and a long service life.

Product Usage

The XBD-L fire pump is primarily used for pressurizing and delivering water in fire‑fighting systems; it is also suitable for industrial and municipal water supply and drainage, pressurized water delivery in high‑rise buildings, long‑distance water transmission, heating systems, bathroom applications, circulating‑water pressure boosting in boiler heating and cooling circuits, water supply for air‑conditioning refrigeration systems, and equipment integration.

Pump Installation Requirements

1. Inspect the pump for integrity before installation.

2. The pump should be installed as close to the water source as possible.

3. There are two methods for installing the pump and its base: one is a rigid connection directly mounted on a concrete foundation, and the other is a flexible connection using vibration isolators. For direct mounting, place the pump on the foundation and raise it by 30–40 mm (to allow space for grouting), then perform alignment and install the anchor bolts. Fill with cement mortar, and after 3–5 days, once the mortar has set, re‑align the pump. Finally, tighten the anchor bolt nuts only after the mortar has fully cured.

4. During pipeline installation, both the inlet and outlet pipelines shall be supported independently; the pump flange must not bear excessive pipeline loads.

5. When the pump is used in applications requiring suction lift, a foot valve must be installed at the inlet pipe end, and the inlet and outlet piping should have as few bends as possible; furthermore, no water or air leaks are permitted.

6. It is advisable to install a strainer on the suction line to prevent impurities from entering the impeller. The effective area of the strainer should be 3 to 4 times that of the suction pipe to ensure unobstructed fluid flow.

7. For ease of maintenance and safe operation, a regulating valve is installed on both the inlet and outlet pipelines of the pump, and a pressure gauge is mounted near the pump outlet, ensuring operation within the rated range and thereby guaranteeing normal pump performance and service life.

8. If an enlarged‑diameter connection is required for the inlet, please use an eccentric reducer fitting.
